One of my favorite websites for mapping or aerial views has to be MSN’s maps.live site. Not only can you get great satellite photos, but also comprehensive standard road maps.
The “bird’s eye” view is an excellent way to get right down to ground level with amazing detail and clarity. I recommend you get the free install of Virtual Earth 3D. This feature allows you amazing control over some great tools like rotate and tilt. I’ve had fun taking aerial shots of places I’ve lived or visited all over the country. The site has also come in handy many times as a way to do reconnaissance of future destinations. Check it out!
